REVIEW: Kokatat Hustler PFD

by | May 19, 2021 | Gear

Most PFDs for kayaking are too bulky or are in the way most of the time. Well not anymore! I first tried out the Hustle, by Kokatat, at M-Wave last October and absolutely loved it. It was the perfect vest for playboating or lower consequence days because of its low profile, weight and how it sits on you. The way the Hustle sits makes it feel like there’s actually nothing there especially because of how light it is. Even though it feels like you’re not wearing a life jacket, it has amazing floatation and keeps your whole body above water. Recently, I purchased the Hustler Rescue Vest from RMA, my local paddle shop, and it’s a game changer. Because of all these amazing features, I’m excited to try the Hustler out this spring on some more technical whitewater and waterfalls when the rivers start flowing.

REVIEW: Jackson Rockstar V

The new and improved Jackson Rockstar is by far the best playboat I've ever paddled. With the square bow of the 2016, and the stern volume of the 4.0, it creates an incredible mix of easy paddling and big air. There’s nothing more to be said other than it is the best...
